Hello!

My name is Kristin Hare and I want to design a better world. Some of my other interests include petting fuzzy llamas, eating Nutella with a spoon, and travelling around the world to experience new cultures.

While studying engineering during my freshman year at Georgia Tech, a friend of mine met me for lunch holding a pair of crutches. Seeing that she was not injured, I could not resist asking why she had them. She explained that the crutches were for her industrial design project; she needed to make them more aesthetically pleasing, more ergonomic, and easier to use. Immediately, I knew exactly what I wanted to study and changed my major the following week.

I fell in love with industrial design because I wanted to create products to improve people’s lives. For four years, I worked as a product manager to develop do-it-yourself craft products, home decor products, and power tool accessories for mass retail. I want to leverage my skills to design products and interfaces with a broader, global impact and returned to Georgia Tech in the Fall of 2016 to pursue a master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction. My goal is to design beautiful, intuitive, engaging products that help people connect with the world around them.
